As a big Motor City Machine Guns fan I may be a little biased here, but the Machine Guns/Beer Money tag feud of 2010 is one of the greatest things in TNA history for me. It came at a time when tag team wrestling in WWE was dead in the water, and even in TNA it was flagging somewhat. Heck, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall had been champions not long before this.

Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Bobby Roode and James Storm took the reigns and put on five matches that were consistently fresh, exciting, innovative and genuinely must-see, at a time when TNA was scratching more heads than turning them.

Each match came with a different stipulation, Roode & Storm picking up wins in the opening two ladder and street fight matches before the Guns came back with victories inside a steel cage and in Ultimate X. The decider was a best two-out-of-three falls match, with the Guns finally managing to prevail two to one.

Much like American sports trophies, it really felt like Shelley & Sabin earned this. Both teams looked fantastic coming out of it, and there was a real hope that TNA would build an exciting tag division around these two duos. That didn't quite happen, but six years later the matches between these two teams are still a joy to watch.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
