Hey, it’s not like WWE is above rematches between these two.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have danced their dance for years in the indie scene, and for years now in WWE. The two had an acclaimed program that culminated at Battleground 2016... but never really stopped, as they would continue to have one-off matches on RAW, and constantly compete in singles action on the house show circuit, be it for the Universal title, or currently, for the US title.

Point is: WWE are aware of their chemistry and is content to have them wrestle all the time. But unlike other played out rivalries like John Cena and Randy Orton (but oh, we’ll get to that), Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are not to types to rest on their laurels. They come from a modern American indie mindset which compels them to try their best to have the best possible match on the card with exhilarating highspots and dramatic nearfalls.

Plus, a general rule of thumb with WWE and its fans is this: even if we’ve seen a match before, WrestleMania changes everything. Sami and KO’s personal rivalry can only be accentuated by the big stage that is WrestleMania, and you know the ultra-hardcore audience in the Superdome would gobble up the two fighting for a world title.

But about that “WrestleMania changes everything" mentality...
