3. 2/18/91 - Mr. Perfect vs. Roddy Piper (WWF @ Florida)
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xc7mg1_mr-perfect-vs-rowdy-roddy-piper-wwf_sport How Can I Watch It: 2nd Annual Battle of the WWF Superstars (VHS) Like the Michaels match listed earlier this contest also came from a long block of TV tapings, with that night in Florida responsible for a number of other matches that made it to Coliseum Home Video releases. This was easily the pick of the bunch (the other two were Jake Roberts vs. Kato and Hulk Hogan vs. Earthquake) and one of the finest WWF matches of the entire year. Showing little regard for the usually stringent WWF disqualification rules, Piper and Perfect assembled a balls-out scrap which incorporated weaponry, brawling around ringside and choking, none of which was stopped by the referee. It genuinely wouldn't have looked out of place in the Attitude Era. It is all the more annoying then that after all this the finish is still a DQ, though hardly a surprise what with Perfect the reigning Intercontinental Champion and Piper adverse to doing jobs. Its actually one of a number of hidden Piper classics hidden away on VHS, with this and others such as an epic cage match with Rick Rude, a match with Shawn Michaels, and a fun battle with Randy Savage similarly overlooked when discussing his career. This is one of his best, and both competitors share equal credit for the quality of the work.
