7 Reasons Conor McGregor Won't Be Joining WWE Any Time Soon
3. A Lack Of Suitable Opponents To Feud With
Building on the idea of hubris, and Conor McGregor eventually needing to take a loss - just who would he feud with anyway?
Ronda Rousey had the perfect foil in Stephanie McMahon when she showed up at WrestleMania 31. While she got to toss Triple H out of the ring as well, it was clear it was Steph who would be her antagonist if the program were to ever continue.
For McGregor? Well, does anyone want to see him against Roman Reigns? Given how little support Reigns has period? What about Brock Lesnar? Both UFC champions, but Lesnar is twice Mystic Mac's size. Sheamus? Well, they're both from Ireland, but Shemus doesn't seem to have the star power worthy of a spot with McGregor at this point. John Cena? Were he to lose clean...
Really, the smartest thing WWE could do here would be to sign someone else from outside the promotion to put in a program with McGregor - a Mayweather, or better yet Nate Diaz, if he was willing. However, it's pretty unlikely they could pull in either of those names for Notorious at this point.
