7 Reasons Daniel Bryan vs Shinsuke Nakamura Inter-Promotional Match Is Best For Business
4. Both Company's Are Trying To Sell A Network/Streaming Service
Both New Japan and WWE are trying to sell content online. The WWE launched the WWE Network little over a year ago and it has been pretty damn successful, though one can always assume theyd like it to be even more successful. NJPW unveiled the New Japan World streaming service at the end of 2014, so their online presence is still in its infancy. Despite the different stages theyre at in the game, both companies could use more content to draw subscribers. If the WWE and NJPW were to hold an event in July (when the WWE will be in Japan for a tour), broadcast it on both online streaming services, with the main event being an Intercontinental Champion showdown between Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura, its hard to imagine that an event of that magnitude wouldnt draw some subscribers to both. If the WWE times it properly, they can parlay such an event into the launch of the WWE Network in Japan. Regardless of how things were to play out, more content for both the WWE Network and New Japan World wouldnt help, especially if it caters to hardcore fans that are on the fence about either service.
