7 Reasons Donald Trump On WWE SmackDown Would Be A Huge Mistake

3. Getting Booed

This might be the most likely – and awkward thing – facing President Trump if he appeared live on SmackDown this fall.

The episode in question will take place in Los Angeles, which isn’t exactly a GOP stronghold. In fact, you’ve got to imagine the live crowd would be downright hostile toward the polarizing Republican president. Keeping in mind how we earlier observed that a pre-taped segment defeats the purpose of grabbing ratings, we’ve got to believe Trump would be live, which could prompt backlash.

Trump, like any good politician or public figure, likes to try to manage or control crowds to ensure a positive reaction. You hold events in friendly areas with supporters filling the venue. That’s why the president’s rallies are so boisterously agreeable to everything he says. If he said the same things in Times Square, he’d get a decidedly different reaction.

And on live TV in front of an LA crowd, there’s a good chance President Trump would get booed mercilessly, like he was circa 2018 Roman Reigns. We’ve all seen how restless wrestling fans can get when they don’t like what they’re seeing, so imagine how bad it could get – and there wouldn’t be an easy way to stop it, save throwing to commercial.
