7 Reasons John Cena Doesn’t Belong On Team SmackDown Live
3. He Just Left And Made A Show Of It
Near the end of September, John Cena left Raw to film a starring role in the upcoming Transformers spinoff movie. This is nothing new for the company’s lead man. Cena has been in movies before, and it was always assumed that he would return fairly quickly.
This time was different. After the match, Cena lingered in the ring looking for all the world like a like a lost puppy. This even prompted “Thank You Cena” chants from the part of the crowd with deep voices that are usually booing him. It was all very emotional.
Cena stood for one more moment in the ring, and looked like he was about to cry. Then, he walked up the ramp and lovingly fondled the video screen as though he would never see it again. It was sad. They must have been close. Now, of course, the whole thing seems just a little bit silly. September to November is not enough of an absence to justify tender feelings toward LED lights.
Someone send Cena a copy of The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
