7 Reasons Roman Reigns Should Beat The Undertaker At WrestleMania 33

6. If He Loses, Fastlane Was All For Nothing

Roman Reigns can’t win a big match without sending the WWE Universe into a tailspin, but there’s plenty of merit to the complaints surrounding his victory over Brain Strowman at Fastlane. Braun looked strong throughout the match, but the clean pinfall loss ends his undefeated streak on a disappointing note, and it’s hard to see where he goes from here. Furthermore, it only strengthens the case against Reigns as WWE’s resident Superman babyface, and did nothing to disprove his doubters.

Defeating Braun Strowman was an undeniably huge victory for Reigns, however. Strowman has been built-up as WWE’s most dominant force over the past few months, and while Reigns’ win wasn’t a surprise, it serves as a perfect momentum spike ahead of WrestleMania 33. WWE always push 'Mania’s biggest stars to the moon ahead of the largest show of the year, and that’s exactly what happened at Fastlane.

Reigns needed a huge victory to set him up for The Undertaker, and he enters the feud with incredible momentum. That being said, if Reigns loses to 'Taker, all this will have been for nothing. Braun will have needlessly lost his streak on an unimportant, C-grade PPV for absolutely no reason, which renders his whole push pointless in the first place. His loss will become a needless sacrifice, and a forgotten footnote in Reigns’ main event career.
