7 Reasons Roman Reigns Should Beat The Undertaker At WrestleMania 33
5. 'Taker Is A Shadow Of His Old Self
The Undertaker’s health is always a hot topic heading into WrestleMania, and the chatter gets louder every year. No matter who he’s facing, 'Taker’s next 'Mania is always presumed to be his last, and while this talk always seems to come to nothing, it might just be the case this year.
'Taker will be 52-years-old by the time WWE hit Orlando. He was photographed on crutches after undergoing major hip surgery last October, and his Royal Rumble performance made it clear that he was nowhere near 100%. Overweight and out of shape, Taker looked like he was having difficulty performing even the most straightforward movements, and the company were wise to restrict his in-ring time to just a couple of minutes.
He’ll obviously have had a longer time to recover by April 2nd, but The Undertaker can’t defy Father Time forever. He isn’t the performer he used to be, and with Reigns continually pushed as a dominant super-athlete, losing to an immobile man 21 years his senior makes no sense whatsoever.
The Undertaker is the most important wrestler in WrestleMania history, but it’s hard to get behind the idea that he can be a dominant force anymore. It took him over 30 minutes to put Shane McMahon away last year, so why should he overcome a wrestler who has been pushed as prominently as Reigns?
