7 Reasons The British Bulldog Must Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame 2017

1. He Never Got His Hands On The WWE Title

Like Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase, Davey Boy is one of those larger than life, iconic superstars who featured as Main Event talent at a tent pole PPV, but never managed to get his hands on the top belt, the WWE Championship - an accolade Davey certainly was good enough, and over enough, to carry.

While Davey Boy is unfortunately no longer with us, being inducted into the HoF would be a classy move from the WWE that would feel like a posthumous acknowledgement that he was WWE Championship material.

In today’s era, or even during the previous brand split in the noughties, there’s no question in my mind that if Davey was around, he would have got his hands on one of the top belts: whether it be the WWE Title, the 'Big Gold Belt' World Championship, or the WWE Universal Championship.

While even Davey himself would have admitted that his skills on the mic were not his strongest suit, he could certainly hold his own, especially as a determined babyface, and certainly had better mic skills than some superstars who have recently held the top title.

Having a run as champ would have given Davey a chance to really come into his own, and have some five star matches in more main events.
