7 Reasons Why Lucha Underground Is Way Better Than WWE
6. One Hour Of Programming
WWE has way too much programming. It is just downright ridiculous how much TV time they take up, and there are very few fans that would have the patience or the willingness to put themselves through the torture of watching a whole weeks worth of WWE programming without respite. The three hour Raw is the biggest culprit in this watching Raw today is an impossible endurance slog of meaningless matches, garbage promos, and endless product placement. This is a complaint that we hear all the time, but WWE wont ever listen because they have their sights focused on short term gain, rather than playing the long game something they ironically mock WCW for on an almost daily basis. This is not a problem with Lucha Underground. Lucha Underground has one hour of programming a week, and we even got a break from it over the holiday break last year. Some of you might be asking if its so good, wouldnt you want to see more of it? And the answer to that is YES you do want to see more of it, and thats the point. Rather than being burned out by marathon sessions punctuated by Triple H talking about himself for twenty minutes at a time, or Michael Cole telling us how many downloads the WWE app got this week, you get one hour of solid, non-stop, well produced action that leaves you excited and waiting for next week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HngookMwNcM#t=12m30s When was the last time anyone sat through an episode of Raw and had an excited anticipation for what was going to happen next? And when was the last time that WWE showed even an ounce of patience in a storyline that would keep their viewers intrigued? They literally cant do this because they have too much TV time to fill. We saw the Authority get fired after Survivor Series and they were back in five weeks, because without them the WWE writers were completely bereft of ideas and direction and this is inevitable when you have hours upon hours of television to write every single week without a break. Lucha respects its audience, respects its writers, and understands how exciting television leaves you wanting more. If you thought Breaking Bad was addictive wait until you see Lucha.
