The Wyatt Familys debut on RAW taking down the monster Kane was a beautiful idea, and the WWE were right to spend a little while establishing Brays character by having him take down some of the midcard. The heels got to deliver beatdowns to jobbers, and Wyatt got television time to cement his promo style with the WWE Universe. Its a tried and tested way of getting new characters over with audiences, one thats currently paying dividends with Windham Bray Wyatt Rotundas real life brother Taylor, also known as Bo Dallas. Before you sling a new hot property into a potentially moneymaking feud, be sure the audience knows who your hot property is and what motivates him. Unfortunately, the Wyatt Familys next major victim was to be Daniel Bryan, the most popular superstar in the entire company. Windham Rotunda was more than ready for the challenge, as gifted as he was right from his RAW debut. Bray Wyatt the character, on the other hand, wasnt ready for such a high profile outing, only three months or so after his debut on the main roster. To make matters worse, the Wyatt Family feud had interrupted Bryans feud with Randy Orton and The Authority for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and the WWE Universe were well aware that they were being palmed off with the Big Show and Cena in the title picture instead. Wyatts defeat of Bryan at the 2014 Royal Rumble was far overshadowed by the stories that came out of the pay-per-view: the live audience demanded that their diminutive bearded hero appear in the Rumble itself an hour later, and when he didnt, comprehensively spat on the main event from a great height. No one would remember Wyatts clean pin from earlier on, and the next angle the Family were involved in was John Cena.
