When Batista returned to WWE in January the news reports all stated that he had signed a two year deal with WWE that will keep him in the company until WrestleMania 32 in 2016. That was then. This is now. It's highly unlikely that the 45 year old star of Guardians of the Galaxy is going to stay in WWE for that long and if his Hollywood agents had a choice he may never be back. Batista has become too big for WWE. There's too much injury risk for him wrestling full time. He's already got roles secured in a future Avengers film as well as Guardians of the Galaxy 2. There will likely be other roles as well because once you become a mainstream star like him you get all kinds of offers rolling in. He has to capitalize on them because if he commits to wrestling for the next two years then he's going to leave a lot of money on the table. The rise of Batista into movie super-stardom is proof that there's a big difference between being a top guy in WWE and being in a blockbuster film. He went from being a huge name in the wrestling business to all of a sudden being a "new" star in movies. It must be a weird feeling for a guy in his mid-40s that has been entertaining for 15 years, but sometimes that's how long it takes for a man to catch a break. He may return to WWE in 2015 for a WrestleMania 31 program that could lead to his retirement match against Triple H like he's talked about many times, but other than that his days as a full timer are over. Batista has definitely become too big for WWE.
