7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 1992

5. Bobby Heenan Was Incredible During The Rumble Match

http://youtu.be/wSJN9DR0u0w It's rare to put an announcer in the "things to know" about a show, but it's impossible to ignore the great work that Bobby "The Brain" Heenan did throughout the Rumble. He wasn't shy in his support of Ric Fair all night long. When Flair entered at number three, Heenan was furious about the bad luck and started complaining from that point on. What was great throughout the match was that kept on freaking out every time somebody went after Flair or whenever Flair was close to being eliminated. It also helped the flow of the match because every time somebody went into the ring they went after Flair, so it gave Heenan more things to complain about. When Flair eliminated Sid as the final man in the match, Heenan's reaction was something similar to what Daniel Bryan might say in today's WWE: "YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!" He also celebrated with Flair immediately after the show. It was a great night for him and arguably the best of his announcing career. Give a lot of credit to his broadcast partner Gorilla Monsoon as well. They were a great pair that really knew how to work together well. Any time Heenan said ridiculous stuff, Monsoon was there to call him on it. You could tell they were close friends too. The action in the ring is great, but their work together really helped things too. A great announcer like Heenan can make a match seem more special. That's exactly what happened at the 1992 Royal Rumble.
