7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 1993

7. The Steiner Brothers Made Their WWE PPV Debut

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott) were one of the best tag teams in the world by the time they got to WWE for the '93 Rumble. They started in the company a few months before the Rumble and wrestled on the first Raw ever in January 1993, so they were being built up as the next great tag team in WWE. It was a major signing by WWE. Their PPV debut match was against the Beverly Brothers, who were nothing more than a cocky heel team that lost more matches than they won. It was a good choice for the opener because the Steiners were new in WWE, so the fans were hot for them. It was a typical tag match where the heels dominated for much of it, Rick got the hot tag, Scott got tagged in and won it with a Frankensteiner, which was an awesome move even for a bigger man like him. Speaking of Scott, it's so weird watching him from the early 1990s considering how much he changed his look by the late 1990s. It's like a completely different guy. The Steiners had some mild success in WWE, but they only lasted around a year until they moved on.
