7 Things You Learn Writing About WWE For A Living

4. The Internet Wrestling Community Is A Unique Group Of People

WWE.comWWE.comWrestling fans are as passionate as any group of people that there is. It does remind me of sports fans who have a favorite team that root for them with all their heart, but can be critical of draft picks or signing talent. It's just that in wrestling that "team" is a company like WWE or perhaps a Japanese wrestling company or even TNA or ROH. The point is, some fans follow everything about that company the same way they would a sports team and sometimes they are too critical about things that happen. We're all guilty of that. When WWE reportedly signed Japanese wrestling sensation KENTA a few months ago (he's probably starting in NXT in August) there were those of us that were happy about it because he's a talented worker that will make the WWE roster better. However, there are others that will point out that WWE has done a poor job of utilizing Japanese wrestlers in the past, so why should we be excited about it? They're not necessarily wrong about it, but it's better to look at things in a positive way because if you're negative it helps nobody. Remember the word fan comes from "fanatical" and that's something we all are about no matter what we're passionate about.
