7 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

1. A Humbling For Shinsuke Nakamura

Okay then WhatCultureites (WhatCulturans?), where's your money? Are you going to plump for the dominant champion, the man who vanquished the Demon King inside a cage and arguably the most dangerous individual in all of World Wrestling Entertainment? Or maybe you're learning towards the undefeated Japanese sensation, the King of Strong Style, the coolest man on the planet?

As far as I can see, this match must go the way of Samoa Joe. What's more, it needs to be an absolute annihilation. I'm talking Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn, Brock Lesnar/John Cena levels of decimation. Joe must win and Joe must dominate, as that is the only thing that truly makes sense for the future of NXT.

Think about it; if Nakamura wins and becomes champion, then what? It devalues Joe, it devalues Balor. Nakamura needs to lose at some point, and by giving Joe a dominant win here you set up a very simple yet very effective story of redemption for the as-yet-unfazed Nakamura. He goes back to the drawing board and comes up with a way to defeat the monster.

Joe's reign is also just getting started. If he loses the belt here, what then for him? There is a lot of mileage in Joe and Nakamura, I dare say enough to carry NXT all the way until WrestleMania 33 weekend. Plant the seeds this Saturday in the most violet manner please, and the payoff will be monumental.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
