7 Things That Must Happen At NXT TakeOver: Orlando

3. The Streak Must Go On

Has there ever been a more dominant champion in WWE history than Asuka? The current NXT Women's Champion has barely been tested during her 362+ days as champion, and the Empress of Tomorrow is yet to be pinned or submitted in NXT at all. Her streak currently stands at 159 wins, with Goldberg's 173 in sight, although the numbers themselves are up for debate.

Despite this dominance, popular opinion believes that Ember Moon is likely to leave Orlando with the NXT Women's Championship. Ember is undoubtedly Asuka's toughest challenge to date, but is it the right time to end the streak? The biggest TakeOver of the year may be the right place, but it almost certainly isn't the right time.

Whilst Ember Moon may well eventually defeat Asuka, the former Athena has still only wrestled 10 non-tag matches on NXT TV. There is an excellent story to tell in Ember defeating Asuka, but rushing to the end of that tale helps nobody.

Replacing one unstoppable force with another would be a listless move by those in NXT creative.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
