WWE: 7 Things That Shouldn't Have Happened At WrestleMania 30
2. Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker Shouldn't Have Happened
I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the reasons for CM Punk leaving WWE at the start of the year, but Brock Lesnar was the right man to end the streak based on the current roster. There, I said it. Make sure you read it properly. There is no-one else on the current roster with the reputation or attitude to end the streak. Brock Lesnar, for all of his faults (part time schedule), is a freak of a human being. He is bigger, stronger, younger and all the other things that The Undertaker isn't. The only true advantage 'Taker had in this match was experience. Both men work a part-time schedule, though expect that to change with Lesnar now you can't finish The Undertaker and then disappear until Summerslam, hopefully. They would have both been suffering from ring rust. Add to list that Lesnar has never lost to The Undertaker on pay-per-view, and it really takes away The Undertaker's aura and intimidation. Lights, smoke and a burning casket shouldn't intimidate a man that 'Taker has never beaten on the big stage. This was planned. It wasn't as if 'Taker woke up one morning last week and phoned Vince, saying that he wanted to retire this year. This has been in the works for a while, and it shouldn't be a surprise. The Undertaker has looked dreadful the past few years in his matches it's either a very good act to highlight his age and make him look like an underdog, or he is just genuinely past his prime and working a big match on the Grandest Stage of Them All is too much for him now. And it was no different this year, as he really struggled to get to his feet several times during the match and really looked to be in a bad way. Rumours abound that 'Taker suffered an injury early in the match, but I still believe he looked to be in bad shape. The argument here though, is that the match shouldn't have happened. If Lesnar is not coming back to a full time schedule, then the Streak should definitely have been given to someone else a passing of the torch, as they say. But, as mentioned at the start of this point, there is no-one else in a position to end the streak. If 'Taker was adamant on retiring this year, he should have faced off with either The Shield or the Wyatt Family in a handicap scenario. It would have been a strong exit for The Deadman, putting up a valiant effort against either of these trios. For the Wyatts, imagine the feather in Bray's cap for knocking off The Undertaker with the help of Luke and Erik. Or, for The Shield it would have a great accomplishment for three of the most talented men on the roster. Ultimately, I imagine the decision was The Undertaker's to make and without trying to spend months building up a new badass, Lesnar was the right choice to lay The Deadman to rest.
