7 Things We Learned From ESPN's WWE Special "Behind The Curtain"

1. It Provided Viewers With An Unprecedented Look At The Inner Workings Of WWE

It was very interesting to watch this hour long broadcast to see the inner workings of NXT. When WWE does their documentaries about behind the scenes stuff it's pretty cool to see the wrestlers backstage prior to getting in front of the crowd, but we don't get the kinds of things we got there. The part with Triple H holding the production meeting really was eye opening. If they sit there every week or every couple of weeks and go over every wrestler that way it shows that they really are putting in the work to try to get the best out of everybody that works for WWE. That kind of thing also makes us wonder if that kind of planning goes into the main roster performers. It must be something similar to that. That's why it is mind boggling sometime when we see things on Raw or Smackdown where the Bella Twins randomly turn face without doing anything to make us cheer them. It's just that they are booked against heels now. If they have such an elaborate creative setup in place then that sort of thing should never happen. Another aspect not addressed previously is that they showed some clips of Triple H talking to the WWE roster with a motivational type speech to get them ready for work. That kind of positive attitude makes you understand why there's a camaraderie among WWE performers. These guys and girls spend years together honing their craft. It's not an easy job. https://youtu.be/qBzz2YoqpZ8 The E:60 special is recommended viewing for any WWE fan because of what we got to see behind the curtain. A lot of us can say we've watched the business for decades, but until you see with your own eyes you never really know exactly how they go about things in WWE. At least with this documentary we got a closer look. Great job by ESPN in documenting just a small aspect of what happens in WWE. It definitely left this viewer wanting to see more of WWE in that way although as WWE fans we also know that things like this are rare. We are not going to get something like this, which was produced outside of WWE, very often. What we can take away from this show is that every superstar and diva has a different story about how they got there. All of them deserve our respect whether you know their story or not.
