7 Things We Learned From WWE Untold: Shane McMahon & Kurt Angle
4. Angle Cracked His Tailbone On That Suplex
Take a look at Kurt's face in the above .GIF after he lands on that suplex. That's not selling. Angle was legitimately concerned that he might've broken his tailbone, and he conveyed that message to both Shane and referee Mike Chioda as soon as the cameras panned away from his face.
Lying next to Kurt, Shane heard the smack of his lower back against the concrete and knew something was wrong. He didn't want to look.
After the match, Kurt got checked out in hospital and heard that he hadn't outright broken his tailbone. Phew, what a relief. Not quite. Angle had cracked it instead, and was going through unbelievable pain as he tried to do even the most simple of things throughout the rest of the match. He effectively worked close to 20 minutes with a serious injury that'd hospitalise most people immediately.
In a (twisted) funny moment, Shane said he asked Kurt how bad it was. Upon hearing, "I think I broke my tailbone", McMahon focused on the words "I think" and told Angle they should get up soon and carry on with the rest of the fight.
