Okay, Universal Champion, but you get the point. One year ago you would have been given long odds on Goldberg walking into WrestleMania 33 as the WWE Universal Champion but that is exactly the situation we find ourselves in ahead of the 'Ultimate Thrill Ride' in Orlando in two weeks time. Just under six months after returning to action, Big Bad Bill is on top of the mountain once more.

Goldberg's return has been the story of a man being written off and then proceeding to smash those doubts in record time, but not even the most optimistic of Goldberg fans can believe that he has more championship runs in him when this one comes to an end. Goldberg more than likely will walk out of WrestleMania 33 without the Universal Championship, and with that his title days will be done.

Those same fans will have never seen this championship reign coming, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
