7 Things WWE Fans Complain About Too Much

3. The Commentary Team

It's very frustrating to listen to WWE commentary these days, especially on Raw. When the trio of Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield and Jerry Lawler are bantering about Twitter or making references to things from 30 years ago, it makes you wonder if the show would be better if you just hit the mute button when you're watching at home. One of the biggest gripes about the announcers is that they rarely call moves the right way. You might hear an "oooohhhh" by Cole instead of what the actual name is. If a move has a name, like most of Sheamus' moves, then they'll always say it. However, if it's a general move you might hear them completely ignore it because that's what they are trained to do. The way the commentary team is produced right now is awful, but it's not going to change any time soon. As Jim Ross has pointed out many times, they are there to tell stories and plug whatever management wants them to plug. They're not going to call matches the way Gordon Solie or Jim Ross did. Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn (WWE's Executive Producer for three decades) are set in their ways. It's not going to change anytime soon.
