6. He Used To Be The Ultimate Warrior's Tag Team Partner
A lot of wrestling fans don't know this, but Sting has a history with the Ultimate Warrior. Before Sting became a household name in the NWA and Warrior became a big name in WWE, they teamed together to form a team called The Blade Runners. The duo was together in 1985 and 1986 at a time when they were still learning the business. They were both very green. Both guys had a background in bodybuilding, so they had a similar build and fit together well as a team. They were even managed by Dutch Mantell (WWE's Zeb Colter) at one point too. Sting's team with Warrior didn't lead to success for them as a team, but it set the foundation for what both of them would become. You have to start somewhere after all. There was actually a Blade Runners reunion in WCW when the Ultimate Warrior showed up in 1998. They teamed up to face Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart in a match that ended in a DQ. The reunion wasn't a big deal because the match sucked and Warrior's WCW run was so bad that it ended very quickly. Now that Warrior is back in the WWE mix and Sting could be headed to WWE in the near future, they could have a reunion of sorts. It would be interesting to see if it happens in some way and to hear them tell those stories because a lot of it isn't known to the average wrestling fan.
