Last year’s Hell In A Cell main event between Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman was called off when an official ruled the participants unfit to continue after Brock Lesnar’s interference. ‘The Monster Among Men’ lost his cashed-in Money in the Bank briefcase as a result, and the decision was met with widespread derision. “This is supposed to be Hell in a Cell,” people argued. “How can it end in a no-contest?!”

Well, guess what? WWE, those absolute dipsh*ts, did it again last night, with the referee calling time as Seth Rollins attacked The Fiend with a sledgehammer - a worse crime than The Undertaker throwing dudes off the roof, apparently.

The HIAC stipulation had been worn out long before last night’s show, of course. WWE’s PG rating makes it impossible to deliver on the kind of brutal violence that the gimmick used to promise, though bouts like Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton and Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch prove it can still work. Regardless, yesterday’s main event was such a grand farce that it feels like any credibility left in the stipulation has been washed away in a blood-red tide, begging the question of how WWE can ever make it work again.

The easy answer? They can’t. It’s f*cked.
