The WWE debut of Tazz received a lot of hype. Considering how short his in-ring career in WWE was, that may come as a surprise to some people, but it really was a big thing. He was a big deal in ECW for several years, so when he went to WWE people were excited. It also made a lot of sense that it was going to be in New York City near where he grew up. Kurt Angle was still relatively new and was undefeated at the time. He was very entertaining as an overbearing heel who bragged about his 1996 Olympic gold medal win.
