7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 2005

4. The Muhammad Hassan Elimination Was Very Unique

Muhammad Hassan was a relatively new character going into the 2005 Rumble. He was a young wrestler that was booked as a heel that complained about how he was unfairly treated by American people because he was an Arab-American. It was an easy way to get heat, but he was also very good at doing the promos. Hassan entered the match at #13 with his buddy Daivari with him. Everybody that was in the ring stopped what they were doing so that they could focus on him. There were eight guys in the ring at that point. Everybody in the ring stopped what they were doing to look at Hassan. The crowd chanted "USA" at him. It was an amazing sight to see these Raw and Smackdown guys - a mix of faces and heels - just watching this guy as he entered the match. All eight guys stomped on Hassan and then Mysterio hit a 619 on him. Six men (Edge, Jericho, Benoit, Booker, Benjamin, Luther Reigns) picked Hassan up over their shoulders and tossed him out. The crowd loved it. Then the match continued without him. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1zchj_muhammad-hassan-gets-eliminated-rr_shortfilms After he was eliminated, Scotty Too Hotty was #15 (Orlando Jordan was #14) and Hassan attacked him in the aisle. He gave him a Camel Clutch as he tried to enter the match. Referees broke it up while poor Scotty never got a chance to be in the 2005 Rumble.
