An irritant this, but one that followed not nearly long nor incisive enough from potential breakout megastar MJF. Going head-to-head with fellow wunderkind Velveteen Dream on the other channel (not like he'd have been aware of this), the 'Salt Of The Earth' couldn't touch Dream's audacious challenge to Roderick Strong, and had his match damaged by one pronounced psychological quirk. And the sort of missed opportunity that appears almost every week on Raw.
Targeting Brandon Cutler's arm and shoulder throughout in order to set up his eventual submission win, he wasn't given much help from the secondary story relating to Cutler's worked injury.
Unable to complete a move from the top rope which in turn gave MJF the time he needed, Cutler could have been asked to sell a self-inflicted arm injury instead, perhaps even from the dive that also featured fists just minutes earlier.
