7 Times Hulk Hogan Was An Awful Person In The Royal Rumble

5. Illegally Eliminating The Big Boss Man In 1989

The Big Boss Man was the next man out, and the cop immediately got the upper hand on Hogan. This led to Gorilla Monsoon saying that Hogan had been out there for half an hour, when the man in yellow tights had been in the ring for nine minutes maximum. The lengths that babyface commentators went to back in the day…

Things got worse for Hogan when Akeem sauntered out at number 23. The Hulkster put up a fight but it was no use, and he was eliminated by the Twin Towers after a double avalanche. Did Hogan accept his elimination and hit the showers? Of course not. He swiftly dragged Boss Man out of the ring and put a beating on him on the outside.

The brawl between Hogan and Boss Man went all the way to the back, effectively eliminating Big Bubba from the match. No WrestleMania main event was on the line back in 1989, but Hogan surely cost Boss Man a major payday with this dastardly deed. It also brought an end to an eventful 12 minutes for the leader of the Hulkamaniacs.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
