7. vs Alberto Del Rio - Last Man Standing (Vengeance 2011)
There are many ways that a competitor can give upthe most conventional being to tap out from an opponents submission hold. But at in October of 2011 at the Vengeance pay-per-view, John Cena gave up in a slightly different manner. Challenging Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship, Cena came up short in their Last Man Standing match after he was unable to rise before the referees ten-count. Though a Last Man Standing match involves no official admission of defeat from the loser, being unable to answer the referees count is essentially the same thing. Its merely a storytelling technique, utilised by the bookers as a way of showing that a wrestlers body has given up and theyre no longer able to competesomething of an involuntary submission, if you will. Of course, its worth noting that Del Rios victory was by no means clean. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xlygd8_alberto-del-rio-vs-john-cena-last-man-standing-match_fun Having been put through the Spanish Announcers' Table, Del Rio should have been counted out. However the referee was distracted by an attack on Cena from the Miz and R-Truth. The delay bought Del Rio enough time to get to his feet, before he crocked the challenger with the belt to put Cena down for the count. However convoluted the finish was though, if Cena has been true to his characters word, one could argue that he would have been able to get up before the count of ten.
