Having lost his World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXV, Edge would challenge Cena for the gold the following month at Backlash. In what would ultimately prove to be the final chapter of this particular rivalry, Vicke Guerrero added a Last Man Standing stipulation for good measure. You can probably see where this ones going, as it was once again an outside interference that rendered Cena unable to continue. This time the Big Show was the culprit, emerging from the back and Chokeslamming the champion off of the stage and into a giant spotlightwhich seemingly proceeded to explode from the impact. Though Cena had Edge on his shoulders at the time of the Big Shows intrusion, it was arguable that the Rated-R Superstar had been in the ascendency. A DDT onto the stage, followed by a vicious concerto, had left Cena seconds away from a rare, clean defeat. Thus Edge may well have been able to win without the added help, but either wayanother involuntary submission from the Leader of the Cenation.
