6. Sheamus Beats Cena In A Tables Match For The WWE Title At TLC 2009
John Cena was having a successful 5th reign as the WWE Champion in late 2009 as he headed to the TLC PPV in December of 2009 to face off against Sheamus. Most people figured Cena was going to win because Sheamus was still pretty new on the main roster (he was on ECW earlier in the year), but when they made it a Tables Match that opened the possibility of a loss. The reason a loss was considered possible is because Cena could lose the match without taking a pinfall. Going into it most people just assumed Cena would win because he won so much. It was a finish that wasn't that strong. They were struggling on the top rope while a table was in the center of the ring. Cena had his back to the table while Sheamus was trying to prevent him Cena from giving him a suplex onto the table. They should have done it where it was a more emphatic shove from Sheamus because the video makes it look too obvious that Cena was jumping through the table while Sheamus tumbled to the floor. The win came off like a fluke in a lot of ways, but it was a big moment in the career of Sheamus and it did elevate him to another level.
