1. Won Number One Contender Match At Hell In A Cell
Cena participated in a "No Holds Barred Contract On A Pole" match against Dean Ambrose with the idea that the winner of that match gets to face Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match. Cena lost because The Authority interfered. When a guy loses a match where there's a reward for the winner, he really shouldn't be put in another match with an even bigger reward. But guess what? That's what WWE did! Cena was put in a Hell in a Cell match with Randy Orton where the winner of that match gets to be the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship. They never said when the winner gets the title match. We just know that the winner gets a shot whenever Brock Lesnar decides to show up again. They had a really competitive match at Hell in a Cell full of some big spots and nearfalls. In the end, Cena won again. Think about that for a second. He lost to Ambrose with the reward of facing Rollins in a match and instead he was "punished" by having a match to give him a shot at the WWE Title. Not only that, but the night AFTER Hell in a Cell they put Cena in a match with Rollins, so he ended up getting the original match anyway although it wasn't in the cell. With Survivor Series coming up, they switched gears to try to tell the story that The Authority really hates Cena. As I outlined throughout this piece, they really didn't do a lot of bad things to the guy. Once again, this is not a way to say that Cena is going to turn heel because The Authority has barely done anything mean to him. It's more of a case of pointing out the inconsistencies in WWE booking, which is why the fanbase is tired of a lot of things going on right now. Hey WWE "creative team" you can do better. Please.
