12 years on from 'Mania X, Mickie James beat Trish Stratus to become the new WWE Women's Champion at 22. To top off the most memorable of debuts on the famous event, Mickie split four of her fingers into two and licked the gap between them. Behind the curtain, Vince McMahon blew a gasket and couldn't believe she'd do such a thing.

James received a stern talking to for her ad-libbed gesture, and WWE bosses made it very clear she was never to repeat it again. The controversial moment probably ruined the Women's Title bout for Vince completely, and left him wondering if Mickie was the right choice as champ. If she couldn't behave, then perhaps the title switch was a mistake.

Mickie did fall into line pretty quickly after WrestleMania 22. She had to, because p*ssing off the most important man in the wrestling world during WWE's most high-pressure pay-per-view of 2006 was not a good way to get into his good books.
