7 Times Vince McMahon Thought WrestleMania Sucked

4. Ric Flair's Epic Blade Job

Ric Flair loved caking his bleach-blonde hair in rivers of blood. His blade jobs are iconic, and there's no doubt they heightened some of his biggest matches in the NWA/WCW. Flair, believing he could repeat the trick and add drama, decided to blade during his match with Randy Savage at WrestleMania VIII.

He was fined for his troubles.

The WWF had a strict no-blood policy in 1992, and they weren't willing to tolerate any chat from Flair about adding thrills and (literal) spills to his championship decider. To McMahon, Ric and Randy had arrogantly dismissed his directives, and that meant they had to be punished.

It didn't matter that Bret Hart had done the same. He managed to convince everyone that his own blade job was a mistake and happened hard way earlier in the show. Flair wasn't so fortunate, or convincing, and he had to incur the wrath of Vince when he returned backstage to hear the boss hated his love of the gusher.
