It's not dismissive of the man's public personality to guess that it took a hell of a lot for Vincent Kennedy McMahon to sign off on an all-female main event at 'Mania 35. This, after years of using women as a side attraction, was a 180-degree turn from WWE. Suddenly, females were the focal point of the show's entire build, and they'd go on last.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey smashed it. Then, Vince probs wanted to smash referee Rod Zapata for the botched finish.

Imperfections are intolerable to a man who cuts promos on himself for sneezing, and that's especially true on a pay-per-view series that's meticulously planned to showcase the best of his baby. When the ref counted three and ended the Triple Threat prematurely (citing sympathy for Rousey's broken hand as his reason), McMahon likely had an out-of-body experience at Gorilla.

The final match at Wrestle-freakin-Mania had been ruined by compassion and a flubbed finish. That's the kind of thing that'd keep McMahon awake at night wondering what might have been, and it cannot have sat well with him at all.
