7 Times WWE Missed Opportunities With Sasha Banks

5. Team BAD

WWE had no idea what to do with NXT women when they made their main roster debut.

The Divas Revolution was an opportunity for the company to jump on a bandwagon it didn’t quite understand. The sight of Banks, Lynch and Flair all tapping out Team Bella was powerful but the momentum soon fizzled. Charlotte and Becky were grouped with Paige, and Sasha Banks was thrown into a faction with Naomi and Tamina.

Team BAD could have worked. Naomi and Tamina have long been misused by WWE, but the star power of Banks could have been what pushed them to the spotlight. Instead they were the least relevant of the three factions, lumped together as a trio of heels with no discernible goal or motivation. The Boss could have pursued a rivalry with Divas Champion Nikki Bella with Naomi and Tamina as dedicated back up, which could then have led to the disintegration of Team BAD as Banks’ teammates turned on her. WWE did pursue a similar storyline but it was lackluster, crowding Becky Lynch into the picture and predictably reverting to the tired formula of a tag team match at Fastlane.
