5. Feeding Him To Roman Reigns

Things were looking up for Rusev when he and Lana were picked 10th (16th overall) by Raw in the 2016 WWE Draft. Rusev had been reunited with his bride and was made to look dominant by winning the US title convincingly from Kalisto at Extreme Rules.

That's when Ru bumped into Roman Reigns.

Reigns was cast as one of Raw's premier stars, which was hardly a surprise, and there was no way he was going to lose his first meaningful feud on the brand. He and Rusev had matches on Raw, SummerSlam, Clash of Champions and Hell in a Cell.

Although Rusev technically looked strong by beating up Reigns before the SummerSlam match could begin, he lost every other match the pair had, including one for the US Title at Clash of Champions. In other segments on TV, Roman repeatedly made Rusev look like a bumbling fool.

Instead of pressing the reset button on Rusev and booking him strongly, WWE failed him all over again.
