7 Times WWE Was Plunged Into Chaos

3. Eyjafjallajökull

The cloud of ash thrust into the stratosphere following the April 2010 eruption of Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull caused absolute carnage to travel, grounding flights all across Europe. Besides birthing this wonderful meme, the disruption had wider reaching consequences, not least severely hampering WWE's Raw, as most of the talent were trapped on the continent following their WrestleMania tour.

With the red brand's roster stuck in Belfast, a skeleton crew of SmackDown superstars filled in for the absentees. Only Triple H, Vladimir Kozlov, Carlito and commentators Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler escaped Europe in time.

With ring announcer Justin Roberts absent, Lilian Garcia graciously agreed to step in to cover for him. As gratitude for her gesture, Triple H basically called her a horse, whilst Lawler resorted to neighing noises behind the desk. She should have told them to stick it up their ash cloud.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
