3. Never Use Their Real Names If They Have A Stage Name

twitterIf a wrestler users a stage name then you should always refer to them as that. It's a rule that applies for seeing them in person too. Do not refer to Triple H (@TripleH) as Paul, Edge (@EdgeRatedR) as Adam or CM Punk as Phil unless you personally know them. They're not going to acknowledge when you call them their first name. When you have a question or comment the best thing you can do is just use their stage name. That's what they've become used to over the years. Being a smartass about it isn't going to get you that far either. If you use the stage name you're being respectful to them. It's one of those things where you want to be respectful in order for them to give the respect back to you. This is something I've mentioned before when writing about meeting wrestlers. It's such a unique business because if you went up to Christian Bale you wouldn't call him Batman. You would use his real name. In wrestling, they want you to use their stage name. It's just how it's been and always will be.
