7 Ups & 1 Down For WWE NXT (Dec 9)

5. Triple Threat Tag Team Chaos Leads To A GYV Victory

After last week's impromptu bout between the Grizzled Young Veterans and Imperium was frustratingly cut short by GYV's original opponents, Ever-Rise, all three teams were thrown into Triple Threat tag team encounter last night.

You can always count on a certain amount of creativity and calamity when six stars are thrown into a contest on NXT, and this latest offering didn't disappoint on that front. GYV showed off their suuuuuupreme tag team chemistry, tripping and dropkicking their foes with ease, Imperium delivered a rather sickening double tree of woe dropkick, and Ever-Rise even strung together a few pieces of tandem offence between hiding away from the majority of the action.

Then, just when it seemed like Ever-Rise were about to pull off the unthinkable, James Drake and Zack Gibson hit the Ticket to Mayhem and picked up the victory.

With a win over the former NXT Tag Team Champions, and another surprisingly capable duo, surely GYV have cemented themselves as Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch's next big challenge. And just like that, the black and gold brand's tag division just got interesting again.
