7 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Collision (Sept 23 - Results & Review)

1. A Brutal Main Event War

AEW Collision Ricky Starks Bryan Danielson
AEW

Another week, another fantastic Collision main event. Likewise, another prime example of Ricky Starks grabbing an opportunity with both hands, and another excellent match to add to what has been a magnificent in-ring year for Bryan Danielson.

These two fellas beat the absolute tar out of one another, with both men busted open as straps and a metal chain were just some of the tools used to unleash bloody violence across this bout's 20 minutes.

Much like their previous singles match, it was Danielson who got the win here, but that loss won't do any damage to Starks. If anything, Absolute comes out of this looking like a tough SOB who just went toe-to-toe with the best in the world yet again.

In particular, the facial selling from Starks at times was just utterly flawless, with the Stroke Daddy one of the best in the business right now when it comes to expressing the pain of a hold, the weariness of a fight, the frustration of not being able to put someone away.

Nigel McGuiness also deserves so much praise here for what a marvellous job he did at chastising Bryan for doing the exact same things Nigel had previously celebrated Starks for doing.

All in all, this was a brutal, bloody, brilliant main event to close out an AEW Collision that was a belter.
