7 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (Dec 11)

5. Surprising Potential?

Otis Chad Gable

Yours truly rolled his eyes and said something like, "Christ" when WWE shoved Otis and Chad 'Shorty G Is So 2019' Gable together in an 'odd couple' tag-team. However, this week was one mighty step in the right direction for their prospects as an unlikely comedy duo.

Chad made an arse of things by stopping his new student from hitting his Caterpillar during a match with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura, and he ended up losing after demanding Otis tag him in. Then, backstage, Gable claimed it was a test and that he didn't actually want to be tagged in.

All that ham must've rotted Otis' brain. Tsk tsk.

Seriously though, Gable showed his ability to be a delusional, smart-assed jerk here. If these boys can continue down this path, then they might just survive WWE's blatantly apathetic booking. "Might" is better than "definitely won't".
