7 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (Dec 11)
4. Carmella’s No-Show
Whomever is in charge of the finer details for heels on SmackDown, take a bow.
If that's Bruce Prichard, so be it. The overworked McMahon lieutenant nailed it later in the show with Roode and Ziggler, and he got things bang on during the opening segment. After all, why in the name of Gucci handbags would Carmella jump when Sasha Banks said so?
The SmackDown Women's Title challenger stayed in the back for WWE's TLC contract signing, put pen-to-paper on the deal and then sent her errand boy out to fetch Sasha's signature. This was a standard heel move, but a good one. Sometimes, the easiest booking is the best option.
Of course, WWE kinda' dumped all over 'Mella's arrogance by having her agree to move the title bout forwards by a week. Still, Banks goaded her into that more than anything, and the hastily rearranged title showdown was clearly more set up for the pay-per-view anyway.
