7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (19 Jan)

Ups...

7. Jericho Isn't Feeling It

Dynamite's myriad backstage segments don't usually find their way onto this column, as they are often too brief to offer substantial commentary on. This is fine. There's room in wrestling for such things, and AEW typically utilises them well.

Trouble in the ranks of AEW's most tenured stable can't go unmentioned, though.

Chris Jericho ate a little sh*t last night. Steadfast in his belief that The Inner Circle are still his boys, he spoke with supreme confidence when he said he doesn't care about Eddie Kingston, assuming Santana and Ortiz would back him up. It was therefore satisfying to see him get knocked down a peg. While Jericho doesn't care for Eddie, the tag team do, and as Santana put it, they've been fighting Jericho's battles all along. Maybe he is the reason they aren't holding the Tag Team Championships.

Up next for the trio is a match with 2point0 and Daniel Garcia next week. That'll tell us more about what The Inner Circle's dynamic is to be going forward but with Kingston out injured, this was a good way for the story to progress.
