7 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (19 Jan)

5. Open House

House Of Black Malakai Black Brody King
AEW

The Kings of the Black Throne's presentation was spot on last night.

From the phenomenal ring entrance with a fresh new God's Hate track (Body King's punishing beatdown hardcore band) to the way they mauled the Varsity Blonds, this hit the right notes. Malakai Black cut surgically with his kicks and chops while Brody bludgeoned like a hammer. They complement each other extremely well - and it helps that moves like Black literally throwing opponents at King for their Dante's Inferno finisher are so visually stunning. A great team with great synergy and great aesthetics.

Plus one for Brian Pillman Jr. pulling out of the springboard spot too. A follow up to his staged botch the last time he faced Black, he has lost confidence in the move as part of this ongoing story.

PAC's pre-shot promo conveniently interrupting Black's post-match promo at just the right time was a stretch. Nonetheless, it'll lead to what should be a fantastic match.
