2. Pay-Per-View Preview Underwhelms

Thunder Rosa
AEW

A stacked match, talent-wise, but one that was soured by what sounded like a poor in-arena atmosphere, Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez's win over Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter didn't land.

It sucks, as all four worked hard to will the crowd around. They were just unsuccessful in doing so. A surprising lack of urgency at key moments and a couple of clunkier exchanges aside, the work was largely on point, particularly the build to Martinez's hot tag, though the muddled finish didn't help matters either.

The production team looked like they were stuck between Mercedes' dive to the outside (wiping Hayter and Rebel out) and Rosa's match-ending Fire Thunder Driver and pin on Baker. It was chaotic, and not in a good way, through no fault of the wrestlers.

High Revolution hopes weren't dulled by this, but the tag won't have raised many pulses for the long-awaited Baker/Rosa rematch either.
