7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Homecoming 2019

2. Kicked Off In Style

Was there any better way to kickstart the show than the X Division Championship match? It's been a staple of Impact for years now, and this was just another great example of how exhilarating the stipulation can be.

The competitors here were Rich Swann, Ethan Page, oVe's Jake Crist, and The Rascalz's Trey Miguel, with the vacant X Division Championship hanging above the ring. You had a bit of everything in this match, from the amazing athleticism of the smaller guys to the power of the bigger Page. Any one of these could've walked away with the gold on their shoulder.

In the end, it would be Swann who did so. It makes sense, seeing as he's probably the biggest name in the match having been a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion. You could argue that Trey could've won while Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz go after the tag belts, but he's only just came in. Let people get used to him first, then have him winning titles.
