7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Homecoming 2019

3. The Machine Falls

Homecoming's main event was a colossal one with Brian Cage getting his shot at Johnny Impact's World Championship by cashing in Option C. When you put two men of this calibre in the ring to main event your first pay-per-view of the year, then you know you're doing something right.

It was obviously a wonderful bout to end the night on a high, but cashing in the X Division Championship for this title opportunity proved to be a mistake on Cage's behalf. Granted, he got to main event a return to Impact's old stomping ground but he now leaves empty handed.

Currently, it's unsure what direction The Machine will be heading in his Impact career. There appears to be a new challenger set for Johnny Impact, whereas the person who uses Option C doesn't typically receive an automatic title match straight away. As a result, it looks like championship glory is unlikely for him right now.

Realistically, the best choice would be to have Cage destroy everyone and everything in his path. It's what he does best.
