7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 18)
1. Title Implications
The fifth and final competitor for the X Division Championship ladder match at Bound For Glory was due to be determined in a match between the returning Sabu and Rohit Raju of The Desi Hit Squad, a match that would eventually end in a double count out. Let's be completely honest here - this was a mess from start to finish.
First off, why were these two in a championship qualifying match? Sabu hasn't been around for a good while, and Rohit is, for the most part, a tag team performer. Secondly, there were many moments where Sabu should've been disqualified - using a steel chair, having The Super Genie get physically involved in the match, and the big one, putting Raju through a table at ringside that resulted in the double count out.
It's since been revealed that the fifth competitor in that match will be the recently signed Ace Romero (you may recognise him from the Casino Battle Royale at AEW's Double or Nothing back in May). This match wasn't necessary at all. If you want to bring in someone like Sabu, then at least make it mean something.
And now to the positives...
